What is a Photo-Over Patch?

Learn why a photo-over patch is a great option!

Photo-over patches are the best of both worlds!
They include printed detailed designs with the texture of embroidery.

Photo-over patches consist of three layers:

1 - Bottom Layer - Embroidered for texture

2 - Middle Layer - A detailed full-color photo print

3 - Top Layer - Embroidered text and other details

A photo-over patch will have great photo-quality detail and will be able to incorporate gradients while still including that traditional embroidered style.

  creating a unique look.

Why choose a photo-over patch?

When the artwork is too detailed for traditional embroidery, but you still want the traditional look and feel of an embroidered patch, that's where the photo-over patch shines. Since you can combine the two processes, you get an ideal combination.

Not only does a photo-over patch add texture, but it also can add several layers of dimension. You can do all sorts of combinations with areas of flat sublimation or textured sublimation on top of threads. Adding a final layer of embroidered text on top of sublimation also helps the design pop!

The main visual difference between Hard Enamel Pins and Soft Enamel Pins is the texture. While hard enamel has a smooth finish, soft enamel pins consist of dips and ridges.
